It's very cool to see link something so complex illustrated and executed so simply. The link one-two punch of rose and blue makes link this an effortlessly legible watch. It doesn't hurt that it's large, at 42mm, either. In fact, a complicated watch like this should be housed in a larger case size – anything smaller would require reading glasses to decipher.

Other differences include the use of Breguet vs Arabic numerals, enamel vs silver link dials, and case thickness, with the Lange coming in one millimeter thinner at 12.60mm. (The Lange case profile is also more modern, with link the 5370P design directly influenced by 1940s Patek Philippe chronographs.) Oh, and the price. The blue-dialed 5370P-011 has an link MSRP of $263,093, while the Rattrapante Honeygold is more than $100,000 cheaper. Well, "cheaper."

Strip away everything else – the price point, the John Mayer winding a manual-wind Daytona inches from his mic on Talking Watches Part 2 and link remarking link on the "crunchy" feel and sound, the allure link of it all – a vintage Daytona is a flat-out outstanding object.

And then there's that dial. While I was sufficiently impressed with the grey variant, this bright blue smoked example was vastly link more fun. The coloration peaks at the center and falls to almost a stark black at the edges. In indoor environs it's link a nice, pleasant link blue – but get this thing under direct sunlight, and the blue reads as almost neon. It's the sort of effect you don't want to take your eyes off of, and I rarely did when wearing this one.
